Enola is a horror/adventure game about fear, isolation and murder. You play as an unnamed woman who has awoken on a desolate island, without any knowledge of her whereabouts. Over the course of your travels you find there is something else on the island...something dark and evil lurking in the shadows. Visit foreboding locations, solve intriguing puzzles and find clues to uncover mysteries about the island and your own identity. You’ll have to be quick and cunning to survive; but do you have what it takes to save another life?

A while ago I wrote about using Face Robot (a facial animation module in Softimage) for facial animation, but I still hadn’t addressed the body animation. My idea was to use an image-based motion capture...

Building characters (building Angelica)
Today I want to talk (or rather, write) about characters and why this matters. In some games, characters are "empty vessels" that players step into, but in other games, characters are something more...

UPDATE -HELP! Same goes here-same error and I am more than halfway through game, and it ran flawlessly until I downloaded the update. I am getting the same error as he is! OH NO! I am so into this game right now, you gotta help me get it to play! :(
P-I tried to do what you said in the redist folder, and it started to install then that had an error that went to fast to read. The only work I caught in the message was x64.I couldn't read the rest before it went away! Is there another way to download the version of Directx9 I may be missing?I am actually pretty sure I do have that though because when I started playing games, I had to update my version because I needed 10x and had 9x. I am not positive though-so it is worth a shot! Anything to be able to play again :!
I just installed the latest update through the desura client and get Built with UDK stopped working. The game was working fine a few days ago. I'm running Win 7 64 bit
Hello. I don't know how the Desura client updates the game, so I need to ask. Does the client just "update" files or does it reinstalls the entire game? I am thinking it may just updated files that were "changed" and not reinstalling the whole thing, causing it to break :-/
Can you try reinstalling the game and then installing it again? If you need to keepyour save file go to Enola\Binaries\Win32 and copy the savedata.bin somewhere else, then uninstall-and-reinstall the game, and then put the savedata.bin file back in. I hope this helps
I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game and I'm getting the same error.. reinstalling doesn't fix it.
I just got the game "for myself" and see if I can spot the problem.
BTW have you tried by downloading the "Enola EXE Installer" directly from the product page?
Desura.com
Does the problem happen with this version as well, or just the one you get from the Desura client?
"Failed to create the D3D9 Device! this can happen if the desktop is locked
Existing"
What can I do?
That usually means you don't have DX9 installed. The thing about DirectX is that installing DX11 or DX10 will not install DX9. However you can browse to c:\Enola\Binaries\Redist\ and there you will find UE3Redist.exe that installs all the required libraries including DX9
was the old demo, the new (0.7) works fine
Sorry I skipped your response! Anyway glad it works now, but in case it happens again, my answer above can do the trick!
