Dysis is a creative voxel-based real time strategy and first person shooter hybrid. You are given an army of robots, the ability to manipulate your environment, and the task of escaping the Dysis. The land is infinite, hostile and mysterious. You must explore, research and survive. You've just crash landed; your journey begins with limited resources and the knowledge that you will be facing wave after wave of hostile enemies. You must engage or evade them to survive. You can hide your crash site and base by manipulating the world around you, block by block, or you can bring the fight to the enemy first-hand by piloting a robot and leading your army to victory!

Alpha Update

Upcoming release here on Desura and Steam is coming very shortly. There were some large delays last year, but Dysis is due for a major release - and it is nearly here with a lot of new content!

Well I'm about done with this game. I understand problems arise, family issues and what not but the developers promises of updates have all but pooped out as far as I'm concerned. I have seen nothing but screenshots of the new build from almost a year ago but no updates to speak of.

Oh well games come and go I guess....

The developer posted on kickstarter comments back near the end of october. he said it got approved for steam and he was going through a lot of major famil health problems all year so development was a lot slower than normal. That was really it, though... :/

Latest news is up on the dev blog (http://tumblr.dysis.net/) - been running slow last year due to large unforeseen circumstances, but now are jamming. New update will be released very shortly, and there will be weekly updates for the foreseeable future once that update hits. I will be releasing more info on that as we get closer to release. The plan is to have Desura and Steam update at the same time, but I'm not sure how long the Steam approval will take - so it may drop here first!

I finally had a chance to download and try the game. On the top Right it says that there is a newer version available (Desura download has version 0.1.0 and it says there is a 0.2.0). Is it possible to find the newer version?
I installed the Desura program and tried to run it that way. I installed and verified the program. When I double click I see a small window flash (literally a flash) then nothing. Re-installed Java, etc. Ubuntu Linux build with 12.04.
Thanks and can't wait to see what changed!

Give this guy some space, he worked hard before to get the game into this stage. And i am sure he will get to the next stage of completion :). Give him some time and you wont have to worry, just give him some faith.

Dysis is far more ambitious project than it seems to be at the first glance. If all of its promises will be eventually fullfilled, it will be nothing less than a genre revolution. Full 3D infinite dynamic environment RTS was never made before. In addition to that, Dysis promises to unite most of the advancements in RTS made in last 15 years, like composite units, direct unit control, scalable-detail camera, projectile simulation, mass-pathfinding, some of which was explicitly stated, while others present inherently since the game will be unplayable without them. To me, it seems far more ambitious than $2'300'000-funded Planetary Annihilation. I asked Chris about some of technical stuff around that ideas, and looks like he understands what he's doing, both in terms of amounts of work and complexity of technology. As we still don't know what exact development cycle he's using, we cannot predict proper update release date. Amount of added features per release can also greatly vary depending on that. Probably, current lack of update is just a normal workflow - before prototype release it was kind of same way with lots of delays. So for now, let's just keep faith.

@BramStolk For now, you should be able to grab the stand-alone, and when I update it, I'll make sure the installer works. My apologies! Jan 21 2014, 11:54am
@BramStolk Oh, you know what - the linux installer is a stub, when I uploaded that version there was no fully working client to package it. Jan 21 2014, 11:53am
@BramStolk That's very odd - I haven't seen that before. I'm checking into it right now, though the new version isn't on Desura yet. Sorry! Jan 21 2014, 11:47am
