One of most calm and beautiful game ever created. Very underrated.

I was hoping that this would be a nice relaxing game, but instead it gets me raging mad when I can't reel in a freaking half pound little tiny fish on the very first mission of the game. Am I swimming in a pool of mutant super fish?

When I purchased this game, the developer promised Steam keys to those who voted for this game on Greenlight. Now, the developer has refused to give keys to anyone other than the ones who purchased the game from 1 indie bundle.

I looks pretty cool so that's why i gave it a 4, but it's only a bout spear fishing, a traditional method, so maybe im not all that traditional

Depth Hunter is a diving simulator. The game is build around simple actions, shooting fish and then catch them with a line, searching for treasures and making fotos.

Graphics 9.0
It looks brilliant, but you must remind that this game needs just 700mb, so dont expect a something overvelming.

Sound 7.5
Calming and smooth. Everything from the music to the sounds of the animales was very nice, I could have been more variety in the music.

Gameplay 6.5
Fun and challenging, but swimming for hundreds of meters is a slow process thats boring after some hours.

Replay 3.0
When you finished the game, you only have freeplay. I hope they add content!

Verdict: 6-6.5
I had 4 hours of fun, I would not recommend throwing any serious money at, but when you can get it cheap...
At least it is something new, but it could be more ... content.

While visually appealing this game, frankly lacks gameplay. The main objective is to spearfish which turns out to be much more difficult than necessary. If you consider buying this game outside of a bundle please watch reviews and notice that no one is capable of reeling in fish with any kind of consistency.

Luckily, with improved mechanics or a fan patch this game could be saved. It would take a lot of work and the game, again while it looks good now, is going to quickly begin showing its age. If the developers are looking to cash in on a sequel they are going to need to really step up and make the game outstandingly beautiful and far more populated with fish or at least realistically sized schools as for now they are too small.

As always caveat emptor.
