Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used.
The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

At first it refused to start. I only got a black screen with a "Please wait" on it. I needed a "kill -9 PID" to get my system working again. But I was lucky and discovered the reason: the sound driver.
When I use the --alsa option, everything works fine.
With --oss the game starts, but I have no sound.
My system: openSUSE 12.1 (x64_64) with AMD Phenom II X4 965 and nVidia GeForce GTS 250
Could you try running the game with the -dd option (debug debug) and no sound option and post the last bit after it has frozen? I'm interested in why that happens.
Version 3.09 has been released now. It mainly fixes some modding bugs.
It is bugged for me. First time that I needed to use SIGKILL.
Did you try running it with -d or -dd debug switch to narrow down the problem (it should give info about what's causing the crash or freeze)? Also, what OS/distro are you using? Additionally, did you use desura or the standalone installer?
Version 3.08 has been released now.
Thanks JK. ^_^
Hopefully, the next patch will see the addition of the priest of El ? ;)
<crosses fingers>
Price of DOM 3 is set by publisher not by devs :)
But i must say that both are very unique games and both are VERY interesting, i pay anything for games like these...
Indeed they are very interesting and worth every penny BUT despite of that "publisher" of these games should really reconsider to lower their price to a reasonable level because as I said its rather counterproductive then anything else. Do not understand me wrong. Im not saying that these games are not worth the money. They are. But not THAT much in my honest and humble opinion.
No hard feelings pal. Just my two cents ;)
Actually its not counter-productive.
I know that it seems logical that it should be. But there are many factors involved. This has been deeply debated by many levels of experts for a decade just with the games of this company. The discussions can still be found if you are interested.
No hard feelings. Just that the comment is not new revelation.
