Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The witch can use fungus to summon a catoblepas whose gaze can annihilate an entire row of enemies per turn. The demonologist can summon powerful demon lords, but only if he is brave because the likelihood of a demon lord attacking his summoner is quite high. In short the main thing about this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used.
The game can be played on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX (both intel and powerpc).

Just a quick question in general regarding Desura. Does this site require a memory resident client to manage games ala Steam? I am on GamersGate only where you download an executable to install/backup, etc and that's the end of it, unlike Steam - which is why I'm not on Steam. :)
If I can simply download, install, and update it myself proper, then we have a deal. If not, then I'll wait for another option down the line. Sorry if I seem crass, but I'm about as old-school as IllWinter and clients are on my no fly list.
P.S. I could swear that I read a blurb somewhere in my travels which mentioned CoE3 will not require this client...but alas, I cannot locate it anywhere. *sigh*

Yesterday I see two of you necromancer play video,when game start,you save hand of glory for use more powerful magic.
The first line magic dark knowledge only use 3 hand of glory,this special power like wizard's eye can find place what you want to go.it's worth it for saving your action point to explore elysium.
I'm guessing that there is indeed a Beta Testing. I could be wrong but if somebody could tell me how to access the testing that would be great.
When preorder start,illwinter upload 0.91 version on Desura.Then they found this wrong action and delete it.
So now we don't have demo or playable version.
PS: I perorder 6 hours after perorder start and no have 0.91 version...

New Tip: If you upgrade the Necromancer you can lose your insanity. IIRC there are two options. Lich which can raise dead safely, or Vampire who can "eat" entire villages to get boosts
