Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used.
The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

I'm starting a Let's Play video series on Conquest of Elysium 3... One question though, I would like to monetise the series on YouTube. Who do I contact about this or is there a policy in place like many other games to allow monetisation for things like Let's Plays? EDIT: Here is the playlist for when videos are added: Edited by: Das123 |

I liked your series on DW. What does monetise mean? |

I'm not sure who you would contact, but monetize has the sense of "charging for something that used to be free or making money on goods or services that were previously unprofitable" (from Wikipedia). Edited by: vladikus -- Slackware 14.0 |

On YouTube you can monetize your videos which means YouTube will place advertising on the video page and I would get a cut of the revenue. The thing is that while I own the IP on the voice and description, the graphics being shown on the screen are from the game and so the visual IP is from the developers or publishers. There is an argument that because there is constant voice over that I don't need permission but this doesn't sit well with me so I always seek the permission. Some companies have a policy statement to allow this (MineCraft and StarDock for example), others give written permission (which is what I think I need here), while others have a policy of not allowing it. So I need to contact someone to ask if I can use the in-game footage during the Let's Play to make some coffee money off the ad sales. |

Hi, please go ahead and monetize it. Spreading the word of CoE3 is always good. |

Hmmm.. if lots of the CoE3 videos get monetized then I could put an advertisement in for Dom3 |

What screen recorder do you use and for what OS? -- Slackware 14.0 |

I use Bandicam to do the recording. A little program called Sizer is used to resize the window to the HD dimensions. This is on Windows 7. |

Always enjoy your Let's Plays, Das. Just sent this link out to friends I am trying to force into buying COE3. Also agree that your Distant Worlds LP's were fantastic. |

Nice job das. I like your LPs. I know that Dominions 3 is 5-6 years old but I wanted to say I'd definitely watch if you made some Dom3 LPs. I like watching LPs and the few out there about Dom 3 are horrible. |

Have really been enjoying your let's plays. Discovered them with the Fallen Enchantress vids and been watching for new ones daily ever since. |

I think I've already said that I enjoy your Let's Plays a lot, so after just watching most of your first Let's Play for CK2, I hope you will take kindly to a tiny bit of constructive criticism (not sure where to put it, hope it is ok here). I think your Let's Play videos could be even more fantastic if they were a tiny bit shorter, and I think you could succeed in doing that easily by being a bit less verbose on some areas. One example that I kept noticing was that you frequently spend time reading tooltips out loud; that might be icing on the cake once or twice, but I believe it is unnecessary (since your viewers can also read them if they want) and distracts from the "point" or the "narrative" you are trying to create. Keep up the great work! |
