Blasted Fortress is a physics-based castle assault game with an added layer of resource management. Even while you're not playing, crops grow, market prices fluctuate, seasons change, and you may come back later to be greeted by disasters that happened while you were away or gifts to bolster your resources. It's a blend of physics decimation, looting, hoarding, and RPG-style enhancements. If you're more creatively inclined and want to add more content to the game, you can even create your own buildings to siege using the built-in building editor.

Blasted Fortress 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 patches released!

Yesterday Blasted Fortress was patched to 1.0.2. 1.0.1 was "skipped" due to issues getting the patch verified by Desura, but its changes are included. Here's a list of everything we've changed so far.

Got this in Indie Royale Debut 17 bundle. When trying to get steam key from Desura, it says to get the key from Indie Royale. Indie Royale does not list a steam key, just a standalone installer file.

How do I go about getting my steam key?

There are not nearly enough maps. After a very short time I found that I already played them all and it get's very repetative after that. It's cool that there is a map editor but I never saw my custom map show up?

I don't get the creature battles. I'm assuming there is some kind of weak spot or timing or something like that but I can't seem to find it before time runs out. There should be better feedback. I don't feel motivated to grind to save up talismans for a disapointing creature battle I might not get anywhere with. I'd also prefer if the creature battles were more exciting. Maybe the creatures could attack you and you have to block or something.

It seems like the developer/s are trying to make the game last a long time but there is not enough variety and content to justify it.

After multiplayer is added I could see that being the big selling point. Espeshily if you can create maps and use them in battle against your friends. That could provide endless hours of quality fun.

2. Sometimes my cannon seems to randomly start spinning out of control. There must be something that causes this to happen, but there's no indication of what. There has to be some sort of message, a sound effect, *something* that tells the player why their cannon is suddenly not working. You can't develop a strategy in a game if you can't understand the mechanics.

3. I made a level in the editor and saved it. Now what? I've played many battles in the game since then and my map hasn't turned up. I don't even know what category the map will be in, or if it's even in the game at all. There should definitely be a way to test the level immediately, and then it should be clear where in the game the map can be found. There are far too few maps in the game as a whole, considering how much you have to play to unlock the features. Playing the same one over and over and over again gets old very quickly. Either there needs to be a lot more content, the game needs to progress more quickly, or the user-made maps need to be readily and clearly available in the game.

4. The difficulty level doesn't seem to make any difference to anything. The maps are the same on every difficulty. Sometimes it seems like the blocks maybe take more hits before breaking at higher levels, but it's not obviously different. Similarly, there's no indication of why I get the amount of XP I do. Sometimes I get 2, sometimes 7. It's not about the size of the map or the difficulty, so what is that? Is it just random?

I want to love this game. It's fun and cute. But I hope these issues can be addressed.

Ok. The update to 1.14b seems to have fixed the resource collection issue, BUT, now the game is not saved if you exit the game! I really want to play this game, but I am not going to if I have to completely start over every time I exit!
