why does the game close when i try to play mods?
Do you have Windows 7? Had problems with that OS, and tried compatibility mode with Windows 98 and it worked (save for random crashes during loading of some maps).
You can also try to run BF2142 vanilla (unmodded), then go to Options/Community and launch mods from there and see if it works this way.
Im thinking of buying this game with a good deal new. This game with Vietnam. Is it worth getting? (Work with windows 7?) and is it worth modding? if modding point me to were to begin

But seriously, BF1942 is no longer sold like normal, unless through E-bay, torrents or... that's it i think unless you're lucky enough to find old copies still on the shelves. This game NEEDS to be free!
