“A Nation of Wind” is a video game featuring elements of gameplay from both “Arena Shooters” (like Geometry Wars, Super Stardust, and Asteroids), and “Real Time Strategy” games, (such as Populous, Starcraft, and Actraiser). Set in a world of floating islands and airships, the player is tasked with commanding a ship and establishing/defending colonies. Players will be forced to deal with the bizarre creatures that come up from the lower atmospheres to wreak havoc on their airship and settlements, while appeasing the god’s of the land and eventually bending them to the player’s will. “A Nation of Wind” is currently developed by one intrepid artist, Jameson Wilkins. He is a freelancer with several years of experience in the browser and mobile gaming markets, and has studied game design and art the entirety of his life.

Why free? Its sooooo gooooood!
You're complaining it's free? That's ridiculous! I can't give it away for less than that!
In all seriousness, if you would like to donate, you can do so at the games website by clicking on the "Donate" button on the left side!
I've just played the tutorial so far, but the game looks really cool! Once I get back to the solace of high-speed-internet, I will indeed update and play this (hopefully) alot.
I went to download this on a computer that is noticably more capable of running games. I then ignored it because 'validating' took longer than 15 seconds. Came back and got some error nonsense. What's up with that?
Also, on the computer it's originally on, the tutorial runs smooth and fine an'all. But once I get to the actual campaign-y bits, it slows down to a twitch every 30 or so seconds. Do you know why?
For the first question regarding download and validating, I can't really help you, that sounds like something on desura's end (I've been noticing its acting a tad strange for me as well).
I'm not really sure what is going on with that second issue your having, it could simply be a performance issue related to a lower end PC playing it, not really positive to be honest, I'll see about looking into it though.
I'm getting the same exact problem as him (second problem). The tutorial ran completely fine, no lag - no drops in framerate at all. But then in the campaign the lag is unbearable. It's not even the skippy kind of lag, it's the lag where it takes a minute for your key presses to register, with extreme slow-down.
I was just wondering if you've found a resolution for this problem.. I absolutely adore this game, but all I'm able to experience is youtube videos and the tutorial :(
Im getting unexpected error when launching the game.
Not really sure, probably an incompatibility issue between the game and your PC?
I got the same problem with Wanderlust Rebirth in Steam, but the devs solved it with patches. You could ask their team what the problem was. Maybe it will solve A Nation of Wind's problem.
