3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it!

"Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 !

3089 is a whole new game that continues the 30×9 series. Many of the things you enjoyed in the earlier games returns to 3089, like procedurally generated terrain, items, quests & enemies set in a futuristic world full of action.

You are a promising robotic android design, made by the Overlord, placed on planet Xax.
Your performance in common combat, support & intel scenarios is being closely watched. However, will you become too much for them to handle? What else on planet Xax exists that the Overlord doesn't know about?

Check out the homepage @ 3089game.wordpress.com to get the free demo and even purchase the full game which is still in very active development!

I don't like the artstyle to be honest. I just doesn't good. The colors almost never match and the simplistic enviroment doesn't do any good to that either. When you make a "retro"/"8bit" - stylish game you should make it pretty at least make it pretty. (i.e. Paranautical Activity) It is possible but this game looks like you don't even tried

What part of procedural generation do you not understand? The terrain is simplistic because of the (I'm guessing voxel) system used to generate the world. The colours never matching...I have no idea what you are talking about other than the colours being completely random, which is probably part of the procedural generation too.

No need to be a graphics Object if the gameplay is any good, making something pretty also doesn't make it good and Paranautical Activity is only nicer looking in one way, lighting. That game is in beta though, this is in alpha, so either way this game wouldn't be nearly as polished as it will be.

Thank you for the defense, although I'm not sure what colors are "not matching"..? The colors are not completely random... there are different biomes, like grass, snow, radioactive etc. and cliffs are colored a bit differently.

If you guys have suggestions on how to improve the looks, I'm all ears -- and yes, the game is still in alpha.

Looks good, although I won't be buying it, as far as I can see this is a simple grab for more money, pretty much an alternative appearance for 3079 and I bought that so I could care less about buying a slightly different game made by the same guy.

I assure you this is not a simple grab for money. I made a page to clarify confusion like yours, which highlights the differences and improvements in 3089 over 3079:

I think owenrs of 3079 should get a discount when purchasing 3089, to make it fair.

I don't believe developing a sequel is somehow unfair in the first place. 3089 is a completely new game not built from 3079, but original code with a new vision for the series. I appreciate & thank owners of 3079, but owners of Supreme Commander don't get Supreme Commander 2 at a discount, nor will owners of GTA 4 get GTA 5 at a discount. I worked very hard at making this new game, and I will treat it as any other development studio would treat a true sequel.

I still don't see enough differences to buy it, it's certainly not confusion, I do see the differences listed, I just don't think it's worthwhile when I already have 3079.

You haven't mentioned if you've tried the demo.. it is quite different (but not completely different, since it is a sequel after all). However, if you don't want it, you don't need to get it. Just keep in mind saying 3089 is "pretty much an alternative appearance for 3079" is very inaccurate.

Exactly, i still don't get why GTA V has been released, i mean GTA IV already is there since 2010 and it's the same game from R* or take The Elder Scrolls IV and The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim or Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 New Vegas. Always the same game from the same guys.

Except you have to pay for it!!.. Sorry!

Yeah im with neronix, except i bought 3079 and didnt feel like it was worth the money. So im definetly not wasting my money on your 'sequel'

sorry!. sadly Valve can get away with it, small guys however i doubt cannot.

First, 3089 isn't just a 3079 update, it is a whole new game. Secondly, you should try out the free demo before simply writing the game off - you might find it does a better job at realizing the concepts you were looking for in 3079. Finally, why are only big studios allowed to make sequels? Sounds unreasonable to me...

This looks very promising. I personaly think that this is a true sequel, rather than an update. I didnt play much of 3079, but I loved it. I hope people stop giving you grief about this.

Thank you for taking the time to show your support; it is greatly appreciated. I do believe as people try out the demo and play the game, they will realize this is a true sequel that I spent much time & effort in developing.

Ha! It is a pretty rough robot voice & I can see how you can get "sucks" from it :P The "proper" pronunciation of the planet name is "Zacks" -- I probably will tweak the voice in the next video to sound more correct :)

Instant buy from one of my favorite devs. Keep bringing out the games and I'll keep buying. Your games are weird, not the best looking but run fantastic on my old Win XP system. They are fun, different, awesome!

Edit - I didn't even have to read the feature list to know this would be different and great and a day 1 buy. It's kinda cool watching each game get more features, get more polished.

Looks like there was a bit more of an engine improvement, over 3079, than I was expecting, so you're right to call it a sequel. But I paid for 3079 when it was part of an "alphas" bundle and it failed improve after that, the "Alpha" was basically also the release version. Will you be providing more appropriate continued-development on this game?

Phr00t Apr 14 2013, 1:47pm replied:

There are many improvements in 3089 & I'm glad you notice.

3079 was at version v2.8.13b in the IndieRoyale alpha bundle. According to the version history:

... 3079 received 21 updates, including many major ones, after that bundle. Saying 3079 failed to improve after the bundle & that the "alpha" version was the release version is simply false.

I will certainly continue to develop 3089, but if you fail to realize the work I put into 3079, I can't guarantee you'll notice all the hard work I put into 3089 either. At any rate, I will work on 3089 until it is complete.
