Shadowmapping, phong, dynamic lights and shadows, impressive animations, and physiscs all rolled into an engine that's about as technically demanding as Left 4 Dead. It's a nice little engine. I think all of the hate for this engine just is sprouted from the hate for Call of Duty.
I agree. This is awesome, very... but the haters coming straight from CoD are bringing this great engine down.
its ain't little engine, its actually more powerful than idTech4
ID tech4 source code will produce more powerful engines than the idtech3 *cough* i mean COD engine, just watch and see.
Way to overly interpret my comment and completely miss the point.
iD tech 4 came out in 2004... this engine released in 2005.
but this engine gets updated each year for a new COD game
True, but only slightly. The ragdoll and other physics for example are as still as accurate as they were in COD2.
funny that games based on engine from 1999 more sucesfull than Crytek games based on nextgen technology
The game, sorry guys, looks 2000-late
I mean quake 3 looks with fancy weather and you have COD Black Ops multiplayer graphics,. ******..
