I've tried scripting systems similar to Construct's (primarily RTS games like Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds), and I have to say this leads the pack. Also, the fact that you can make commercial games without having to do anything, other than credit the original devs, is a rather nice bullet-point in choosing this engine.

As for multi-platform development... I frankly am not that deeply concerned as of yet. While I do look forward to making my gamessome day work on Linux and Mac as well, the PC is a good proving ground before you go further. It's better to know if you're ready to actually develop games before you start something like a Source Mod or a 3D game (such as a game using CryEngine3, UDK, or Unity).
